11.7.2012 Update

The DOOM X project was halted for like nearly two months due to computer issues :P. With the holidays coming up I will have a ton of free time to make up for it. I know I’ve been announcing new characters but then nothing ever shows up haha but I am here to announce one that will def make the cut. The Doom 64 Pain Elementals will be DOOM Xified!

Color really has not been added to this yet.

They will be called Death Elemental and will not shoot out skulls. They will spawn out something that flies and will be fun to slaughter! I think I am at a happy place with my map editing and going to focus back on monsters this holiday. Thanks to everyone for their patience on this project. I know it’s taking forever but god I’ve had such a busy life these past few years. I wish I could make this a full time job!

Also if any of you are really good with Decorate programming and have any ideas to bring any Doom 3 creatures back, let me know. I’d love to add the Cherub into Doom X but my Decorate skills are pretty limited. Just shoot me a wad with some dummy sprites and I’ll draw it up old school Doom style. I am also excited to see the ZDoom update and am really excited to experiment with some of the new features. The Pain Elemental 64 attack feature that was added inspired me to do the Death Elemental.


  1. Good to hear about the progress! I’m really curious how will it all look in the end πŸ™‚ Have you considered setting a Doomx thread at zdoom board? I believe that you can expect much feedback and help there.
